Mask Aadhaar Number and QR

As per government regulations, all entities, regulated or otherwise, can only store masked versions of Aadhaar cards. Use this API to generate a masked version of an Aadhaar card. This API masks the first 8 digits of the Aadhaar and leaves the last 4 digits unmasked.

To comply with government regulations, if you use an individual’s Aadhaar card to onboard them onto your platform, you must mask their Aadhaar number before storing the Aadhaar card in your system.

Bureau's Mask Aadhaar Number and QR API allows you to generate a masked version of an Aadhaar card. The API masks:

  • The first 8 digits of the Aadhaar number.
  • QR code on the Aadhaar card.

Public URL

When uploading the Aadhaar card to us, ensure you pass a publically shareable URL against the document parameter in the request body.

The API will return an error if you pass a URL that is not pubically shareable in the request.
