As per government regulations, all entities, regulated or otherwise, can only store masked versions of Aadhaar cards. Use this API to generate a masked version of an Aadhaar card. You have the option to mask either the first 8 digits or all 12 digits of the Aadhaar number.
To comply with government regulations, if you use an individual’s Aadhaar card to onboard them onto your platform, you must mask their Aadhaar number before storing the Aadhaar card in your system.
Bureau's Aadhaar Masking API allows you to generate a masked version of an Aadhaar card. You can either mask:
- The first 8 digits of an Aadhaar card.
- All 12 digits of an Aadhaar card.
Public URL
When uploading the Aadhaar card to us, ensure you pass a publically shareable URL against the
documentparameter in the request body.The API will return an error if you pass a URL that is not pubically shareable in the request.
